Yes, commemorating R A Lafferty is a great project for 2014. I’ll certainly look for your biography.
I’m sure the Centipede editions will be lovely, but they are meant for well-heeled old farts who already love Lafferty. (Like me—I’m not all that well-heeled but have some discretionary income.) Will we get paperback editions of the story collections? What about the novels? What about digital versions for e-readers? I’ve been collecting his work for a long time & would love a chance to get my hands on some of the obscure stuff I’ve missed. But I’d also like Lafferty always at hand—on my Kindle or my smartphone.
I heartily agree with your “wish list”—but also hope that reasonably priced Lafferty will be available to tempt new readers!
A very good point—so far as I know the plan with the Centipede is to sell the hardcovers to collectors and then if a wider-distribution press is interested, to license a paperback edition from the same proofs.
And yes, I would also love to see some Lafferty on the Kindle!
